Lauvstuas Bluebell Shakira
"Shakira"

May 2002:
Shakira was the only bitch in litter nr. 8, so we instantly decided to keep her. And we haven't regretted that so far…

Shakira is very promising both for show, fieldwork and tracking. She won a BOS at a puppy show the first autumn. The following spring (2003) she won some 1. prizes, and even a Res. CC. But the hightlight of the season was when she became BIS-junior, best bitch with CC and even BOS at the Norwegian Specialty in June! She need more time to mature than her brother, but that time hasn't been wasted!
She's also a very promising worker. Tracking is a piece of cake for her, and she truly enjoys it.
She's a very spontaneous retriever, just like her brother, and a great swimmer. We're glad that we kept this puppy; she's surely something special.

May 2003:
Springtime 2003, Shakira came in season for the first time and the activity course ended for that time, but we went on training her on both tracking and hunting. She is very promising on the tracking and very soon tracked the desired length of tracks. She was more insecure on the game so we struggled a little with making her retrieve dead game.
Retrieving on water was no problem for her, and also the fieldwork didn't cause any problems with her.
Shakira was shown during the spring with very good results. She has several HP and CK and on the Norwegian Toller Speciality she was in great shape and got the CC and was best bitch in the tender age of 13 months. She was also shown on the Swedish Toller Speciality, but wasn't very confident and didn't show herself off. She got a 1st prize, but no further placement.

August 2003:
Throughout the autumn she was totally out of coat and with a new season with loss of coat, it takes some time before we enter her to any shows again.
There are other things to do, and in August we started a new obedience course with Shakira. With only 3 bitches on the course and the rest dogs in wild young dog stage, it turned out to be quite a noisy course! Shakira did very well and is promising to work with in this area too.
In addition she entered a hunting course, that also went very well. She's so promising when it comes to tracking, so we have tracking as our main priority with her.
Late autumn 2003, Shakira was ready for her test, but before that could be arranged, the frost came, so we had to wait til next year.

April 2004:
Now at springtime 2004, Shakira has been entered to a double tracking test in Stavanger the end of April, so we're back on track!
We have also trained more on retrieving this spring, and Shakira is doing very well - now it's ok to retrieve game, so understand the tollers if you can! She's still promising on her fieldwork and we hope to have time to do more training in these areas as well, although we tracking has top priority.

February 2008:
A short resume for Shakira, she got her tracking prizes after a while, but because of two litters we had to stop the activity and did'nt go back to after the litters. She got her first litter in november 2004, 7 puppies, litter 13 and the next one in fabruary 2005, 6 puppies, litter 12.
Shakira never liked to be together with a lot of other dogs and after some discussions we desided to find another home for her. She moved to her new family in june 2007. They had an old bitch and small children, but everything went well and she is having a good life.
I doubt we will have more litters on her, dna B is not easy when trying to find males....
