A new day and new chances, but also the first Working test for all tollers except for Shanty.
15 dogs was entering, 6 flatcoated and 5 tollere in the Beginnerclass, flat and labrador in Open class and two labradors in the Elite class.
The first toller to start was Bonnie, she could'nt believe that strangers was standing in her woodland, so she refused to go out and got zero on this post.
Bowie was the next one, he had obvious got enough the day before, was to rough with the dummy and was disqualifyed.
Anja on the other hand did a perfect job and got 20 points, Ki-mi got 19 and Shanty also got 20 points. So still we were quite optimistic.
On the next post we had to send them on a line, both Shanty and Anja did very well and got respectively 20 and 19 points.
Ki-mi tryed to exchance to another dummy and lost 10 points on that try, while Bonnie still thought strangers should be at home, not in her woodland, so she got zero also on this post.
The third post was a waterretrieving, Anja was in a hurry, rushed againts the water witout any permission at all with zero points as result.
Shanty droped the dummy two meters before delivery, shaked himself, then he picked up the dummy again and came in, but he lost points and ended at 15 points.
Bonnie on the other hand had smelled water and strangers or not, waterretrieving was more important, she did a very good job and got 18 points. K-mi also did very well and got 19 points. Now it was really exciting from the tollers point of view.
By summing up after three posts, Shanty had the highest number of points with 55, then Hedvigs flat had 53 points and Sveins flat on third with 52 points.
The fourth post was a retrieving on a bog, Shanty run out, picked up the dummy and then straight back, result 20 points.
Also Bonnie had now started to wake up, she did a very good job and got 20 points. Well done, Helge and Bonnie!!! Ki-mi and Anja also did well and both got 19points.
Also the two flatcoated worked well and got respectively 19 and 20 points.
Now Shanty was ahead with 75 points, the two flatcoated had the same result with 72 points and Ki-mi with 67 points.
The last post was the crucial test, when Shanty did a god job also here and got 19 points, the test was settled. He won the beginningclas with a total number of 94 points.
Svein Skeies flatcoated got 20 points and got a 2nd prize with 92 points. Hedvig Ihlens flatcoated got 16 points and became number three with a total of 88 points.
It was close race at the end, Ki-mi got 20 points at the last post and was only one point behind, she got a total number of 87 points.
On the last post, both Anja and Bonnie was in a hurry, they run out without any permission and they both got zero. Respectively they got a total number of 58 and 38 points.
So to our big surprise, a toller became the winner of the Beginningclass.
The winner of the Open class was Svein Skeie with his flatcoated male Marco who got 90 points, the Eliteclass was won by Helen Gram and her labradorbitch, Sophie with 82 points.
